COMMITMENTS

Infrastructure

Since 2015, Justin has overseen a rapid expansion of new buildings, additions, and renovations throughout the Potomac District. Since 2015, two new schools have opened in the Potomac District with a third (elementary) scheduled in four years within the Potomac Shores Community.

These additions included the 10-classroom addition at Henderson Elementary (including a STEAM lab). A 10-classroom addition at Pattie Elementary (including a STEM lab) and the construction of the Covington-Harper Elementary School. Covington-Harper added 45 regular-sized classrooms.

Other notable improvements within the Potomac District include a greenhouse at Potomac Middle School, a brand-new stadium complex (including lighting, track, tennis courts, and turf field) at Forest Park High School, and a fenestration project at Graham Park Middle School. Graham Park has seen a complete overhaul of their HVAC system and will see exterior improvements completed in the summer of 2023. Potomac High School will receive a new track in the Spring of 2023.

In the fall of 2021, The Potomac District opened the state-of-the-art middle school, Potomac Shores Middle, within the Potomac Shores Community. Potomac Shores Middle School includes 1,464 seats. The addition of a new middle reduced overcrowding at Graham Park Middle School.

Justin pledges to continue working with the administration to proactively plan for student growth, to ultimately reduce class size throughout the Potomac District. Outside of the future elementary school in Potomac Shores, Justin is committed to finishing the projects slated for Graham Park and seeking solutions to improve Dumfries Elementary.
